Mary's second birthday yesterday started with the annual "Happy Birthday" song phone call from Great-Grandma Y (a fun family tradition).
Mary opened some presents. Thanks, Grandpa and Grandma, for the terrific piano!
She absolutely loves it!
We spent some time with Grandmother and Granddaddy, too. Here's Mary eating her favorite snack (berries) while we were visiting.
There are a couple things wrong with this picture. First, my birthday girl is about to burn her fingers, and WHERE ARE HER PARENTS?! Well, you can see Stephen's hand trying to save hers, and I was behind the camera, which has very little depth perception when I'm looking at the little image screen. Second, that's no birthday cake - it's a Chick-Fil-A sandwich. We didn't plan any big birthday dinner because of all the stuff that has gone on recently (Mary's surgery last week and the funeral in Miss.). Pretty pathetic, I know. . . but who really remembers what they did on their second birthday?
Yes, she really did burn herself (sigh...). However, I'm sure she'll never mess with candles again, so it's not all bad. (I'm sure all the grandparents are a little upset right now, but she wasn't burned badly . . . it's okay, I promise)
I don't remember how old she is here, but she sure was (and is) cute!
Lots more to share, but short on time. . . More later!
