My family from Mississippi drove over today to repair our backyard fence. We have a drainage ditch behind our house, so holes in the fence were a real hazard for curious little ones. Thanks, family, for patching it up! While the men worked on the fence, my mom and I played with Mary while Anna napped inside. We'd like to get a garden started soon, and in anticipation of it I bought Mary a super-cute garden tote bag (complete with pink and yellow tools) and matching watering can. We broke them in today, and I must say that Mary has a very bright future in gardening!
Nana and Mary dig out the soil from an old pot.
I think she thought the rake in her hand was a giant fork, because we had to keep reminding her that the dirt was not food!
Mary really enjoyed working with the dirt and clay pots. "Gardening" kept her entertained for a loooong time. I can't wait to get outside more often with her and let her explore God's wonderful creation!
My little green thumb (who obviously likes to makes faces for pictures)
We had such a great visit, and the weather couldn't have been better!

So great to see a mamma let her little ones get dirty!! If you want to come visit our garden your welcome! I also have left-over seeds if you'd like to share. Off the top of my head I have: bush green beans (no need to stake!), bush zucchini, silver queen corn, bush soybeans, cucumber, okra, peas, and dill.
Hey!
Where's the picture of the fence???
Just kidding...
Mary is such a doll. When did she start doing the tongue thing???
