Last night, Mary woke up crying, which hardly ever happens. She was rubbing her eye and obviously in pain. We gave her Tylenol, put some special ointment on her incision. The incision had a nasty smell, which set off alarm bells in our head - infection. Poor girl! We were all supposed to drive over to the Mississippi Delta for Stephen's grandmother's funeral (she passed away the night of Mary's surgery), but now we're staying home and Stephen is going by his lonesome (six hours one way). This morning, praise the Lord, she seems to be doing much better. She is acting normally, running around and playing, and just having a good time. I'm still going to call the doctor, though, and try to get her in. Her eye is almost swollen shut at times; is that normal? Hopefully the doctor can give us some more answers on why the recovery seems to be taking longer than (I) expected. At the very least, we need another steristrip over her stitches. Please continue to lift us up in your prayers as all of this gets worked out. I ran across an old Bible study notebook the other day, and a sentence I saw has stayed with me during this whole eye-surgery experience: Nothing will come to me that has not already been sifted through God's hands. I know that He is in control, and that's the best feeling.
UPDATE:
Just spoke with someone at her eye doctor's office, apparently all of this is normal - yuck!
At least she's smiling this morning!

Yeah, Chris had a little mole removed and I INSISTED several times, to the point of taking him to the doctor, that it HAD to be infected! A big ol' nope on that one! You can try homeopathic arnica gel from Ruth's Nutrition.
We're praying for y'all!!
Jonathan has still been talking about Ms. Melody and Mary so much! :)

Sorry it has been so rough! Sounds like she has had a time but has been a trooper through it all. Ben had one bad day after his with bleeding. Make sure to get the path report from the doctor because Ben's turned out not to be a cyst but a benign tumor. So you will just want to know. Praying for you guys!
