Fire House Field Trip

We had our first official Bright Lights (our church's homeschool preschool group) field trip today! We went to the new fire house downtown, and we all had a great time. Grandmother came with us, which was an extra treat!

Grandmother and Mary are standing by the yellow pole.

This is the only fire station that is two stories, so the pole was really neat to see.

On the second floor, they have the sleeping rooms for the firemen (looked a lot like really nice dorm rooms, two beds per room), a game room (I think I saw a Wii), a living room (with really nice leather recliners and a big tv), and an absolutely huge kitchen. This pictures was taken in the living room next to their tv. I'm so glad to see our firemen enjoying some nice things in their station. These guys risk their lives for everyone, I think they deserve to have some good stuff.

Anna had a good time, too. It was scorchingly hot outside while we looked at the firetrucks, so she and Grandmother found a big box fan to sit in front of towards the end of the tour. We did end up leaving a little early, though. Mary had lost interest and was starting to stumble around. Her little cheeks were so red from the heat, so I decided that we should just get in the van and head home. Oh, and speaking of Anna, she's seven months old today! I'll have to take our monthly index card picture soon!

I have lots more to post about, but not that much time. Tomorrow is our Sunday School softball tournament, then AWANA starts Sunday! We are all so excited about Puggles; I know we'll all have a great time!

Happy weekend!

What a sweet pic of Annna! She had such a big bright smile, I can't help but smile too. :)
