We were discharged from the hospital Friday morning, and we have since been settling into life at home with two little girls. I love the picture above of a typical morning at our house now (notice Anna in the swing behind Mary). Mary is doing very well so far adjusting to her life as the big sister. Whenever Anna cries, she brings her toys to try to cheer her up. For some reason, Mary thinks that Anna really likes a little pink monkey that she has, so that's always the first toy in the parade. It's so cute! Anna eats and sleeps, that's about it, which is just fine for Mama and Daddy. Anna sleeps in a pack-n-play right next to my side of the bed. She only sleeps for about 1.5-2 hours at a time, so Stephen and I are both in "survival" mode right now, as far as getting sleep goes. Thankfully, Mary is a marathon sleeper, and hasn't been bothered by Anna's crying in the night.
My mom is coming this afternoon to spend the week with us. When she leaves next weekend, Stephen will take the following week off of work. I have plenty of great help to look forward to, so hopefully I'll make a speedy recovery. Tomorrow is a BIG day for us; we have FOUR doctor appointments! Stephen has the day off work, so he is taking Mary to her eye doctor and dentist appointments, while my mom comes with me and Anna to get my staples out (yuck!), then we're going for Anna's weight check at the pediatrician's office. I'm very excited about all of the appointments, except for mine, of course. Mary had some trouble in the first week of her life, but from what I can tell, Anna is thriving. Hopefully her doctor will confirm my opinion in the morning.
More pictures and updates coming soon . . .
