We've Made the Switch!

Cloth diapers - LOVE them!

With another little one on the way, we're looking for ways to cut our costs and save some pennies. We checked into using cloth diapers and have decided that it would save us money in the long-run. There are many, many types of cloth diapers available on the market today, but we chose to use bumGenius 3.0 organics with snaps. They're a little more expensive than most of the other brands, but still much cheaper than buying disposable diapers for at least two years. The best thing about the bumGenius 3.0's (and probably why they cost a little more) is that Mary and her little sister can wear the same diapers; the snaps make them adjustable for babies between 7 and 35 pounds! Mary is in them now, and we have no complaints!

We also highly recommend the bumGenius diaper sprayer for spraying off poopy diapers into the potty. It hangs on the toilet and acts like a mini shower to clean the diaper before putting it into the pail. LOVE it! If you're going to cloth diaper, you NEED one of these!

There are also many other reasons why we switched to cloth diapers, one of them being that the child can tell when she's wet and will potty-train faster (according to statistics we've seen). In fact, today, for the very first time, Mary looked at me and told me she was going potty! Woo-hoo! I was so surprised! So, we are very happy with our initial investment of bumGenius diapers, and we're saving up now for Anna's supply. Then, if Baby #3 comes along in the future, we won't have to buy ANY diapers at all - biiig woo-hoo!!

Hope you're all having a happy Thursday. Check back in a couple weeks for some (hopefully) cute Thanksgiving pictures from our trip to Mississippi next week.
