Salsa and Exersaucer

I absolutely love Saturdays (now that Stephen isn't working on our house anymore)! Today we went on a day-cation to Cullman, Alabama, to pick up an EvenFlo Mega Exersaucer that we found for half price on Craigslist. Cullman is about 45 minutes away, so we decided to make a day of it. Before leaving, Stephen saw online that today is the Salsa Day at the Cullman farmers' market! We love salsa! And there was going to be live Gospel music! How much better could this get?! We quickly jumped in the car with our little girl and headed off to what we just knew was going to be the best Saturday of our lives. Well... are you thinking this is too good to be true? You're right. The "salsa day" (which is a misnomer) consisted of one lone table. That's it! The Gospel music, you ask? One young guy with a microphone and amp finished singing to three rows of empty chairs as we were walking up. But I shouldn't complain; we had to drive to Cullman anyway to pick up the new toy for Mary. At least we got some free (delicious) salsa out of the trip. And the Cullman farmers' market is really neat (that picture below us is NOT the salsa stuff, that's just a stand at the market. I have a picture of the salsa table, but I didn't even want to waste time uploading it because it was just salsa in bowls on a table. No picture needed.). Did you know that this farmers' market is the tallest wooden structure in the state of Alabama? Neither did we, but the city must be really proud of this landmark because a sign on the interstate announced this unusual accomplishment. It was pretty tall. After spending about 15 minutes at the so-called special day of salsa, we went to Sonic to get a couple of Blasts (also delicious) and waste some time before meeting the people to pick up the new toy. We've bought a few other items from Craigslist and have always been really pleased with the quality and people, and this transaction proved the same. If you've never tried Craigslist, it's similar to the Classifieds section of your local newspaper, but it's just online. After arriving home, Stephen and I disinfected the exersaucer (never can be too careful, this is our baby girl after all!) then he and Mary took a nap. I've been doing little things around the house, mainly trying to get the burnt egg smell out of the kitchen after I killed a cheese omelette and set off the smoke alarm while making breakfast this morning. Mary is still asleep and Stephen just left to pick up our dinner: Domino's Pizza. Did I mention that I love Saturdays?
