Double Trouble

This is my first week home with the girls by myself, and it's been interesting so far. I took both girls to the doctor on Tuesday, and they're both sick. It's only colds, but it's just been added drama. Mary is almost over her cold, she only has a runny nose now, and Anna (who was worse than Mary) is doing much better now. I've gotten very good at using a nasal aspirator, needless to say (and I've discovered that both girls abhor it!).

I'm doing much better, and consider myself almost recovered from the surgery. It sure has taken longer than I expected to heal, but I haven't really been taking it easy either. Oh well . . . I'm down to only one pain pill, which I take at night, but I won't be taking them too much longer (my prescription runs out in four days, and I won't be asking for a refill). I go back to my doctor in two weeks for a final check-up on the recovery.

Stephen is doing well, too. He switched to a new company, Dynetics, on February 1. He's doing the exact same job, in the exact same office, with the exact same boss and co-workers, but under a new company. His old company, SAIC, lost their NASA contract to Dynetics, so Dynetics just hired everyone who used to be working on that contract to keep doing what they've been doing. He says it's pretty common on the Arsenal to switch companies,  it's called "switching badges" because each company has a different ID badge. Dynetics is smaller than SAIC, so we'll see how Stephen likes it. In this economy, I'm just happy my husband has a job. We know lots of people who are not as fortunate.

Anna turned three weeks old yesterday, which is SO hard to believe! She's sleeping most of the day still, which I suppose is good (although we still wish she'd sleep more at night). Stephen's parents bought me a Baby K'Tan sling for Christmas, and I've been putting Anna in that for some parts of the day. I hate just putting her in the pack-n-play and leaving her alone in our bedroom. I enjoy holding her and carrying her around, even if she's sleeping (which is what she mainly does in the sling). Mary still wants to show Anna everything; she's going to be a GREAT big sister!

Well, the naps are over, I better go. Happy Thursday!

You crossed my mind numerous times this week and I've wondered how all was going. I guess I know now why you've been on my mind so often. Sorry to hear it's been a tough one. Spring and all that it brings in just around the corner. I think everything is better when the sun is shining!!! I've not called, because well, I've pretty much been in bed or on the couch myself. This will sound terrible, but the past couple of weeks I've been glad to still have a TV. I've done a fair share of entertaining the kids with educational videos and wholesome cartoons! With four their ages, you do what you can. I'm glad you are doing better and sorry to hear the recovery has been tougher than expected! I'm sure keeping up with both girls has been a huge factor! I can't wait to see you all. I'm hoping that will be soon!! Love you!!
