With the girls being sick and the cold weather, we've been home for a looooong time together. I was able to sneak away to a friend's baby shower last weekend, but aside from that and doctors' appointments, we've been in the house going on four weeks. Cabin fever! So, what do we do to keep things fresh? Well, playing with the new play kitchen is lots of fun . . .
and baking cookies was exciting for Mary, too (this was her very first time to bake cookies, and her very first time to EAT a cookie - she LOVED it, of course).
We got pretty desperate for fun on Saturday afternoon, so we decided to all make tambourines out of plastic bowls and popcorn kernels.
Daddy had the most creative tambourine!
When Mary and I were getting bored late last week, we made shapes on the floor with painter's tape. She really likes them, and it's helping her learn her shapes (thanks, Nana, for the idea)!
We have lots of visitors planned for this week, so we probably won't be making any more musical instruments out of paper products (but that was actually really fun). The girls are much, much better, and I'm fully healed from the surgery. Anna has her newborn check-up on Wednesday, so I'll post a quick update of how that goes later in the week. I could write lots more, but I still haven't figured out how to best manage my time with two girls under two, so I've got to run!

Hey girl!! You are full of ideas! I may steal the one about making shapes using painters tape. That's a good one! I can see you guys are already learning a lot at your house. Look at you go!! I'm glad all is well with the Stroud Crowd. :)
So you are finding that it's true, "A Baby Changes Everything." Love you!
