Don't Forget to Check Online

Mary loves chalkboards, so we knew we wanted to get her some kind of art easel. Melissa and Doug make a great one that is just her size and will grow with her through the years. It also has a dry erase board on the other side, so more than one child can be creative at a time. Perfect! We saw it at a friend's house and we knew that Mary would love this particular one. Last Saturday we checked all the local toy stores and the price for the easel was about $70. Yikes! Well, we could save up for it, right? Maybe it could be her birthday present in April. However, Stephen is, as I always say, WONDERFUL! Being the tech-savvy hunk of a man that he is, he decided to check online for the product, Amazon specifically. What do you know... the exact same Melissa and Doug art easel, which sells for $70 in every toy store in Huntsville, sells for under $40 on Amazon! Woo-hoo! This was totally in our budget (as long as we got the "frustration-free packaging," which means it just comes in a plain brown box instead of the colorful company box it's sold in)! The easel came in the mail today and works beautifully! Mary really enjoys it, and I know we'll spend lots of time together drawing a billion hearts (that's the only thing she wants Mama to draw right now... lots and lots of hearts).

Too cute!

We had a slight problem with getting chalk all over her face, but I think we've talked through that one...

Love it and love HER!!! So cute! Do you know if the dry erase board is also magnetic. Please email me and let me know. I would love one of these for our "minor" bunch! We might also have to save up for one. And did you say it grows with her? Tell me about that also. Love you! Jennifer
