Okay, so I forgot to get nice shots of the girls before church this morning in their new Easter dresses (thanks again, Grandmother!). So, we end up with the above pictures instead. I know, they would have been much better outside, but I was by myself this morning after church and was just too tired to take the photo session outdoors. Anyway, cute dresses on some cute girls. :)
Mary shows off our first square food garden (thanks, Grandpa Y. for sending us the book last year!). We've got some cucumbers, spinach, and pumpkins already coming up. Inside, I'm growing garlic, lemon balm, thyme, and chamomile. I've also got three tomato plants in here, which need to be moved outside as soon as I can find some small tomato stakes.
Mary has been asking to learn to read for a while now, and Stephen ordered her Veritas Press's Phonics Museum. It should be in this week, and we're all very excited. While she learns her letter sounds, she builds a little museum and showcases the letters and corresponding fine art, among other things. We thought it would be a good idea to actually take her to a real museum so Mary could see what one looks like and what it's all about. So we did that yesterday. The Huntsville Museum of Art is really neat, and it's right in the middle of Big Spring Park downtown (lots of ducks and stuff). We all had a great time and plan on going back again soon. Mary really got into it! After we left the museum, Mary wanted to show us her handstands, which she's proudly doing in the above picture. I must mention that although Mary liked the museum, she did insist on dancing through most of it. She is REALLY into ballet! Her classes start next month, and I can't wait to see how she's going to like being in a real dance studio!
Happy Resurrection Sunday!

We visited the art museum before starting Phonics Museum too! I helped bring the story to life for Caleb. Also, we got really lucky and happened to go when they had a big armor exhibit going on. : )
