Groundhog Day

We had a few decorations for Groundhog Day that we put up a couple days ago; we also got some great Groundhog Day books (Ten Grouchy Groundhogs is a favorite). We're staying home the rest of the week to continue working on potty training. Still not going well because Mary's just not going. No accidents, no nothing, except for during naptimes when she's in a pull-up. Oh well, she'll get it one day. :) She actually enjoys sitting on the potty when the potty clock (kitchen timer) goes off (every 30 minutes). We read a book and then she hops off. She knows she's going to get a special surprise when she finally does go (a Peppermint Patty doll from Hallmark - her favorite store), and I'm so excited to give it to her... one day, hopefully tomorrow. :)

I'm starting a new Valentine's Day tradition. This is our dining room table and hanging from the chandelier is a heart with a Bible verse on it about love. I made 14 hearts with Scripture on them and put them in the super-cute cookie jar. Each night at dinner we pull out a heart, read the verse, talk about it, and then hang it up. Now we have two hearts up, since it's February 2. I think it's going to look really neat by the time Valentine's Day rolls around!

That's about all the news I have... I'm in the house until my big girl learns to use the potty. If you happen to think of us, please pray! :) It's really not bad; we had a fun day today, and Anna gets to practice her crawling, which she is learning to do backwards and not forwards yet (but she has to start somewhere, right).

I hope you all had a wonderful Groundhog Day!
