These are the first ultrasound pictures of our newest baby! At nine weeks and five days you can already see the head, nose, fingers, and feet. The baby's head is to the right, just in case you have trouble figuring out the pictures. We have them on our refrigerator, and Mary enjoys looking at "Baby."

In anticipation of the newest little one, we have cleared out the guest bedroom and have begun to prepare it for Mary. She'll need to be in her own room when Baby comes. We set up a twin bed with super-girly sheets (Mama picked them out), and her new room (and the nursery) are now equipped with the heaviest black-out curtains and liners that we could find. (The black-out curtains have made a BIG difference, too! Mary goes down for her naps much easier, and she even sleeps a little later.) What you see is all that's in the room right now (except for a rocking chair that will soon be moved out); we've still got lots to do to get the room ready. I'd like to have a bookshelf, lamp, rug, and some baskets for toys and other books (Mary loves books). We've started to play in her room some, so hopefully she'll start to get used being in there. I think it's going to be a great room once everything is in place!

We spent this past weekend in Fulton, MS, visiting my family. Last night we went to a great little pizza place out in the middle of nowhere. This is Mary having cheese pizza for the first time, and although she's smiling, she didn't really eat much of it. Most of it ended up on the floor.

Mary's first time riding in a wagon - loved it! She is such an outside girl; just get her out in the open, under the sun, and she'll have a great time.

We also went swimming Saturday before a delicious cook-out. Mary seemed a little unsure about the whole thing (this was only her second time ever in a pool), but eventually she warmed up to being in the water. I've mentioned in previous posts that Mary always crosses her ankles when she's sitting down; well, I even saw our little lady cross her ankles under the water while sitting in her floatie! Emily Post, watch out!
We all had a very busy week last week. When our family arrived back in Huntsville this afternoon, I was relieved to look on the calendar and see empty boxes for this coming week. I think we all need time to rest and get back into a daily routine. I hope your week will be a relaxing one, too!
