Happy (late) Valentine's Day!

Mary's first Valentine's Day was great! She loved wearing her new dress (thanks, Grandma Y.!), and she had a great time playing in her (germ-free) shopping cart cover while we grocery shopped at Wal-Mart. Saturday is our shopping day, Valentine's Day or not. Yes, we did get the cart cover, which is fantastic! So glad we did.
Unfortunately, Mary has her first ear infection. Yuck. She woke up from her nap on Wednesday with a fever of 102.3 degrees. I called the doctor and described her symptoms (little cough, runny nose, fever). I told the nurse it might just be teething-related, but I really had no clue. She made us an appointment for that afternoon. The doctor looked in her ears, and sure enough, he left ear is infected. He sent a prescription (electronically - way cool!) for amoxicillin, and we were out the door headed to our local Sam's Club to pick it up. That first day was pretty miserable for her, but now she's doing much better, thanks to antibiotics and lots of prayer.
Next week is going to be very busy for us. Stephen and I have volunteered to work at Kid's Kloset, a big children's clothes consignment sale held twice a year, in exchange for shopping the sale early. Stephen is helping to get everything set up tomorrow, and then I work for three hours next Thursday and Friday. The early shopping is this-coming Tuesday night; I'm SO excited! My friend turned me on to this, and she says it's worth working the sale to get in early. She even said that lots of people bring empty laundry baskets with belts attached to the sale. You put your stuff in the basket, and then when the basket gets too heavy you just drag it along behind you while you continue to shop! I can't imagine! We get lots of Mary's clothes from eBay (brand names, great deals), so we're not shy about consignment clothes. It sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun; I'll let you know if we get some great bargains!
Food Update: We've recently added plums and papaya to her diet. Big hits!
Mary's still not crawling, but she's very, very close. She's now getting up on her knees and rocking back and forth. Anyday...
Enjoy the weekend and happy Friday!

I'm so sorry to hear about Mary's ear infection! We are praying for her to get over it quickly! I may check out Kid's Kloset next week!
