After we left the farm and came home, we put the girls to bed and started fabricating our chicken (that's a quick word for cutting them all up). We put the parts in our new freezer in the garage, and then we put two of the carcasses, some chicken feet, and some veggies into our stock pot. Chicken stock is sooooo healthy and easy to make.
Thanks to my mother-in-law, I have a great 12 qt. stock pot that I love (my 30th birthday gift)! Can you find the chicken feet in the pot? (couldn't get the photo to face the right way, but you can still see it)
Isn't that pretty! If I'm going to have something out on the stove for 36 hours, I'm so glad it's a pretty pot!
I've strained it, and now the stock is chilling in the fridge. I'll finish it up later tonight or tomorrow.
Have to run, but those are all the posts for now. If you missed the one about the farm and the pumpkin patch, scroll down to check those out if you'd like. Have a happy week!
