Three Wonderful Years

This is a picture of the front of the refrigerator in my little apartment in Mississippi where I lived before Stephen and I were married. We were engaged for 13 months (too long!), so being a check-list kind of girl, after he proposed I almost immediately printed out monthly calendars and added lists of things to get done each month leading up to the big day. I marked off each day and checked off my little to-do lists for 13 long months! I took this picture three years ago today, June 2, before leaving to get married. I was so glad to pull all those calendars down!

Sadly, this is the only picture I have of Stephen and me together on our wedding day (I'm in the yellow dress on the left, and Stephen is in the green shirt to my right). We had just waved goodbye to friends and family, left the church, and then got in a car accident when we got on Highway 78. As if that day wasn't stressful enough! To make matters worse, I suppose the Tupelo PD didn't have enough to do, so they sent not one, not two, but three squad cars to our little accident (flashing lights, sirens, and all). Our wedding guests waved and honked as they drove by. Thankfully, Tim and Shari Roberts pulled over to check on us and help with insurance stuff (Tim is a State Farm agent). The funniest part was when one of the cops pulled Stephen aside and asked if he had been drinking (if you know Stephen at all, you know this is a hilarious question). Anyway, after filling out some reports we finally made it back to our new home in Huntsville that night - three years ago today. I never dreamed the blessings that could come in just three short years. Thank you, Stephen, and thank you, Lord Jesus!
