Mary has learned to rock her babies before putting them down for a nap (even though we don't do this to her anymore). She'll rock (rather vigorously) and then lay the baby down on her little pillow for its nap. It's so cute to watch!
I finished the Anne of Green Gable series today. It was quite a long series, taking me from enjoying Anne's adventurous childhood to her wedding, to Anne becoming a mother, to watching her own children fall in love and go off to fight in World War I. Eight books in all, with the final book being the best (and I do believe one of my top three favorite books of all-time). I plan on reading aloud the first installment to our children, but I'll leave the rest of the series for their own enjoyment when they get older, if they so choose to continue reading about Anne. I'm always sad to say goodbye to the characters of a long series; they have become my friends. The books were great, with the last one being exceptional, but there is always such a let-down when I read the final page of the last book. I don't know what I'll start next, but I'm interested in staying with the same characters again for a while. Perhaps I'll pick up the Left Behind series again . . . just not sure . . . I've also got a volume of Sherlock Holmes that I've always wanted to read . . . oh, I'm just still too sad from Anne ending to decide . . .
Everyone here is doing well. Mary is starting to stand a little on her own, but I still don't think she's anywhere close to walking by herself yet. She is learning to say, "thank you," but it comes out, "ank oo," which is certainly close enough. :) I'm on week 16 of pregnancy, and I'm so thankful that I'm not as yucky-feeling as I was a few weeks ago. I still get tired in the evenings, but that's to be expected. I haven't felt Baby move yet, but I'm sure I will soon.
Stephen is off at orchestra practice, and I just put Mary down for the night. I guess I'll pick a book and hop in bed while I still have the chance. I know I certainly won't have this much leisure time once Baby comes. Speaking of leisure time, I made a jumper dress for myself the other day with some fabric that my grandmother had given me. I got the pattern off eBay and just decided one day that I wanted to make my own jumper dress. I think it turned out okay for the first try. I'm looking forward to making another one and hopefully fixing the things that didn't go so well with this first one. But it's loose and comfy, which is just how I like my clothes when I'm expecting.
I hope you have a wonderful evening!
